George & Micah's Wedding!!!
May 19th, 2013
The one with the pig roast i told you about? Yes. Here it is. A rainy day. A day that went off without a hitch, as they say, even though things did not go perfectly (seldom is a wedding day just as planned) few would ever know. Because George and Micah were getting married. And that is all that mattered. George, You were a beautiful bride. Like i knew you would be- there were smiles and hugs and family and friends. Dancing and eating that enormous pig, of course! A beautiful bridal party- her girls catered to her all day - and his men, well, they danced real fine. I don't have them memorized or even slightly remembered but the toasts given by the maid of honor and the best man- were so for real. I do remember listening and then almost forgetting that i wasn't a guest and that i needed to photograph this moment, too.
Hibernia County Park - In pavilion #1- The trees and the cool air- with the rain gently falling all around us. I never thought a rainy - day wedding could be so laid back and fun. I now know differently. This is the note that George and Micah wrote to all the guests. " We would like to thank our family and friends for making this special day even greater by sharing it with us. This is a day we will always treasure. We cherish and love the happiness we have found in one another. We pray that God will direct us as we build our future together in a Christ-centered relationship." - Georgeana and MicahStarting off the day at, Maid of Honor, Monique's house for getting ready and detail shots:

An antique engagement ring picked out by the groom. A Beautiful Engraved Heart Necklace- a gift from her mother.
I loved the beading and lace on her dress - it made the perfect backdrop for her details.

Dresses:

We headed outside to get a few shots of the girls and the little people before heading over to the park.
All the nieces and nephews. Darling kids. They were tickled pink to have part in this wedding. Check out the boots! Awwww!

Getting the bride ready:
George, i just have to share this. When i first met George, she was the most collected, calm woman (bride to be) that i had ever met (so far). I was just struck by how calm she was and how "together" she felt about her wedding day. She was excited, for sure, just not excitable. On the morning of her wedding day- as she came into the house from getting her hair done- you could tell- she was getting excited. She was getting flustered. It was surprising to herself that she was getting flustered. So completely darling! She will never forget that morning and how she felt and i love that. As she got into her dress and as her jewelry went on, her hands were shaking a little and she needed to be reminded to smile and relax. Big hugs from her bridesmaids seemed to help keep her steady, and it made the rest of us smile. How great is it for a bride to be so excited to be getting married?!! She was beside herself with anticipation and excitement. I loved seeing that side of you, George. You were a completely beautiful girl.

Rings: made from deer antlers.

Uncle David had the honors of walking her down the wooded path -

Mr & Mrs

While everybody started chomping on this guy we took some time out to take bridal party and family photos.

More of those crazy girls. Sarah, i know your not going to like this much but we couldn't help ourselves. This picture is awesome! You would never expect such behavior from a beautiful, petite woman (mother) like Sarah. But, we have proof that she did it. And what is done cannot be undone. Right?! Thank you for this photo. It's perfect and George & Micah and a few other people are really going to like it, i think.

And, back - to - normal. Fun, fun girls!

The toast.

Cutting of the cake.

And then it was time to eat, dance and have a good time.

After the party died down- so had the rain - and we had a chance to take the new Mr. and Mrs. to a nearby mansion and take some beautiful end of the day photos. They were beyond exhausted - but the moment was a perfect way to end their day. Here they are, the new Micah & Georgeana Byler. We will never meet another couple like you guys and it was our complete honor to be a part of your wedding day. God will direct your future and i'm excited to see where He takes you.

Took these to show off how filthy her dress was and how little it mattered. Amazing bride!

Check out the sleeves on that shirt. Details so unique.

Gorgeous Bride.
And here is their story from the bride:
Within the first couple hours I met Micah I asked him to marry me. A little forward? Yeah. Creepy? Kind of. Ironic? Yes. Micah and I met through mutual friends. My best friend Monique was dating Austin, one of Micah's roommates at the time. One Friday night, Monique really wanted to hang out with Austin, even though we had other plans. I was really dragging my feet as I didn't feel like driving an hour to Gap. Thank goodness Monique is persistent. We ended up going. Micah and his roommates were having some friends over. About an hour after being there, Micah and I made eye contact, we both smiled and he started walking over to me. We started talking about anything and everything and found out we had so much in common. It was just so easy to talk to him. That's when I popped the question. It just came out! I mean, I played it off and said ha ha just kidding! (but really I'm not) Micah just started laughing. From then on, we were inseparable. We've been best friends ever since. I never thought I would have meet my soulmate and best friend that night.

Silla and Julie-A huge thanks to my assistants for the day (& to the entire team), whom i could never do without.
Even if you aren't shooting with me that day- I count on all of you in so many ways- and i would never attempt this without you.
I am so grateful.
