Joseph & Grace : Wedding
August 3, 2013
The day everyone had been waiting for, for a very very very long time.
I love that part of Grace and Joseph's story. The wait.
They were young - but they knew. They were sure. They were in love.
Grace's father closed shop for the day and it was so cool to be able to use it for getting ready photos.
i also loved that her dog was there running under our feet
Of course the masks were a HUGE favorite!!!!
Love love love- What a great detail.
I adore this picture with the bride and groom and the nieces and nephews.
Sometimes they just don't turn out- because the baby is crying or the toddler is crying AND reaching for momma AND blurry,
But this photo just works. So good! Do you know these beautiful people? You should
I could tear up with happy tears, any time I start to tell our story. It's my favorite story though, better than anything I could have imagined!
It was a week before my 16th birthday when Joey first told me he had a crush on me. The next year and half we saw each other and talked as much as we could- this was a bit of a challenge considering our parents weren't so found of how young we were. But we waited, not so patiently, for Joseph's 18th birthday.Once Joseph was 18, we were finally allowed to date. He asked me out in the parking lot of a church in New Holland, our first date was several days later at Simon Peirce.Ask any body we know- we are each other's best friends. Inseparable. I just LOVE being with him. The most exciting thing about marriage for me? The dates will never have to end.The morning of the proposal, I had minor surgery on my shoulder. We both took the day off and decided to make a day of it. We went out to eat for lunch and then went shopping. It was January 2nd and Joseph told me that as part of his new years resolution, he was going to video tape all of our dates. I figured it was so that he could get the proposal on video, but was expecting it to be a few months away. But I was wrong.
On our way home we stopped at "our spot," he asked me to slow dance. At the end of the song, he popped the question. I was on cloud nine for days! I am living a dream come true. God is so good and we are so blessed to have each other. The wedding was everything we could have imagined! We felt God's presence in a very real way all day and we had an absolute blast! Everyone says you don't remember much of your wedding- and I'm sure we missed some of the details but I know we'll always remember the indescribable joy we felt leaving on that scooter. And then it was time.
I loved the groom's reaction as there was an audible gasp that came from his core-
he couldn't help it. She was so beautiful. He had not seen her all day long and finally it was time.
The reception was held on the beautiful property of The Stone Farm : 1294 Weaverland Rd.
With the pond and the trees and the old farmhouse all spread out nicely on this landscape-
The evening fell perfectly with the sunshine flooding the cornfields surrounding the barn.
Grace & Joe: What a perfect perfect day.
You two make a very beautiful couple.
This was their thank you to the guests for coming.
"Thank you so much for being a part of our big day. We feel overwhelmed and blessed by the support we have had from all of our family and friends the past several months. Thank you for your prayers, encouraging words and helping hands.
We hope you enjoy the rest of the day with us. This little bag of goodies is for you! The five almonds are an Italian wedding tradition. The bittersweet almonds represent life while the sugar coating is added in hopes that the newlyweds will have more sweetness in their lives together.
Thanks again and God bless!"
