  • Styled Shoot: Greenhouse: Rothsville, PA

A styled shoot. Something I had been thinking about for months.

How? Which Style? (there are too many)

    When? Who to involve?

I never asked myself why :) Just for fun i knew was the reason.

    No pressure. Just fun.

I had 2 really big ideas- but you can't do it all at once.

So we met and chatted and tried to be as sensible as possible about our limitations :)

And fun is exactly what happened.

    We pulled together our resources.

    Angie. Kathleen. Myself & Kelsey.

This is what we came up with!

The best part is that WE LOVED it.

It didn't matter if no one else appreciated all of our hard work  fun cause it was just for us.

    Greenhouses are breathtaking i think.

I love all the hoses, plants, and empty containers everywhere.

Imperfection can make a very natural setting.

And the sun set was in our favor. This property is beautiful and has endless options.

And here we are! Thanks to our model, Kendra, for snapping this for us.

  • Precious Babies.

    5K9A1946_WEB

I have been meeting the most interesting children this past month.

And i can only introduce you to some of them.

    So. Today. I give you.

    These 2 Babies.

He can make 2 faces that only his dad can make. Not his mom.

She holds flowers upside down - (it's the new way that no one else knows about)

and she's tough. For a baby - she's really tough.

They belong to one of my dearest friends.

This little girl was born with Nevus. Google it to find out more. It's amazing how many babies

have to deal with this. Thankfully, surgery happens when the child is small

and will have little or no memory of the ordeal. Mom and Dad, however, will never forget.

This family. Is Strong. I have seen so much patience and tenacity.

    Love and forbearance.

    Beautiful.

We are lucky to know them.

He makes her laugh. A Lot! And she is his woman all the way.

She wore his mother's necklace - Something old - in the most special way.

A day of love and laughter, friends and family that came together to celebrate these two

over- the- top -in- love people.  It never gets old- watching people get married and this day was

no different. Loving each other came easy and the tenderness - the gentleness-

was what caught my eye. Karmen and Mike- The two of you have a way with each

other that is respectful and gracious. Here is their beautiful day!

Here's to your happily ever after :)

From us : Diane - Kathleen - Valerie

We loved sharing your big day with you!

Mike and I met many years ago through the youth center. He lived with Merv and Juanita above the youth center and when I would go  there occasionally- I would see him. But it wasn't until 3 years ago, when we went on a missions trip together to Haiti and that is how it all began! He thought I was pretty cool and I thought he was hilarious! I remember laughing so much at him, but at that moment I never thought of anything more. When we came home, we started talking a lot more and hanging out a lot. About a month after we came home, on April 19,  he asked me if I would like to go out with him, at first I said no because I didn't think he asked my dad yet!! But after he convinced me that my dad said yes, I agreed to go out with him! We dated for 2 years and 8 months. And then the wonderful day came on December 3rd. He took me took a cute restaurant, looked in my eyes and asked if I wanted to spend the rest of  my life with him. Obviously, I said yes:) we got married on April 26 and we are loving married life ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

    Dress: David's bridal

    Necklace: mikes moms
Perfume: pure orchid( a gift from mike)

A beautiful couple. Through and through. Yauri has an eye for color and style and i am excited to be a part

of their wedding day plans. Eli, you are one lucky guy! (i'm sure you already know that)

Longwood Gardens is a vast display of perfectness-it can be hard to know where to "land" when

it comes to photos. Yauri did her homework and knew where and what she wanted with props

and background. (very helpful) This engagement shoot turned out to be fun and carefree with the perfect mix of romance.

I love it!  Eli & Yauri- to a great couple. =)

  • Mt. Gretna Tabernacle Wedding: Barn Reception: Mr. & Mrs. Crouse

    April 19, 2014

I may just share with you every photo we took of this beautiful wedding.  The details are amazing and mostly done by family and friends.

The bride shared about her little sister that every project she copies from Pinterest actually looks better than the Pinterest picture

itself. It's true. This family has talent- starting with mom who made the bride's dress- the cupcakes for dessert- and who knows what all else.

From beginning to end this day was filled with the simple joy and love of family and friends.

Much Much Craziness. Laughter. And Big Hugs.

From the handmade chalkboard program to the metal wheel wreath hung as a giant chandelier-

This wedding is an inspiration to make use of what you have - simple and beautiful!

    Babies breath/yellow/woods/blue/sunshine/lace/polka dot bow ties/keys/peanut butter eggs/

We were lucky to be a part of it all =)

Don't forget to check out their love story and the details to their day at the bottom!

Seth- Keep being crazy. Your laughter and your craziness is only a hint of the huge soul and kind heart

inside of you. Liz is gonna need that and Liz, you look at Seth as though he just ran a thousand miles

to save your life. He is obviously your favorite person.  Every time he sees your eyes look at him like

that he will want to run those thousand miles again. =)

( ok- you can kiss now )

Our love to both of you,

    Diane . Judy . Valerie .

    here you go:)
    our journey.....
I was in perfect denial, and he sought hard after me.
I don't remember when we first met, we grew up in the same youth group and he was just one of my brothers crazy friends, and I had my girlfriends.
As for God, His timing is perfect.
We started hanging out together more often at youth events....He drew me in with his crazy laugh, crazy ideas, and just his crazy self. We began having "thursday night parties" with our group of friends, just to play games, make tie die t-shirts, or simply just to be together. In all this I was becoming more and more attracted to him....and he began seeking me out. I told myself, "he is just being nice" and he isn't really choosing me. It took a lot for me to realize that, Yes this man was choosing me...Seth was very persistent and the reality that he wanted more than just a casual friendship all took place December 22!
I was walking out to my car after work...and  there he was with a bunch of roses, asking me to go on adventure with him! And what an adventure it was! The excitement of discovering who this crazy guy was, and the joy of being the girl who is given the opportunity to go deeper was such a blessing. We quickly realized that we both loved quality time, and many evenings that winter were spent relaxing by the fireplace, or simply just being together.
The journey was exciting but not without disappointments....that summer I went on a mission trip for a couple months and was struggling with some life situations. We hit a rocky part in our relationship when I came home, and soon afterward broke up. During this time God had a lot to teach both of us separately. It was very painful and I questioned what God was doing in all of it. In the beginning of our breakup I really didn't see us getting back together. But God had better plans, and through another trip we took with friends I saw the man God was shaping him to be. And through much prayer and guidance by my parents, we started dating again!
It was a second chance that not for a moment do I regret:)  This time we both learned a lot about caring for the other, and were able to better connect and be honest! The adventure of dating felt new and scary, but with Gods help we grew incredibly! That summer was way better and a few highlights were a day trip to DC, doing a ropes course together, ect...
That fall Seth went on a mens camping trip, for a week. During this time I desperately missed him.  I know God used this time to show me how much I wanted Seth apart of my daily life. When he finally came home, we spent an evening together and he told me all about his trip, at the end he gave me a note and told me I would be receiving more...This made me extremely excited! The following day was like a treasure hunt, each note I received had a special memory and told me where to go to find the next note:) Finally at the last destination he was waiting for me....such emotion! There he took me on a most unforgettable walk through the orchard where, he chose me and asked me to be his wife!
His Question and my Yes....was only the beginning of our New Adventure:D

    I think she is perfect!

A cake smash idea is really great for little boys and girls this age- it brings out emotions in them that

can otherwise be hard to capture. Like a sugar rush =) which i wasn't able to capture but it was o so cute!

Mommy and Daddy like to call their baby Lemon.

    And she is adorable.

    Carla & Steve
    March 14. 2014
First met each other through dancing. They requested to be able to dance to a song for their first look. Yes!
His mouth dropped to the floor and stayed there for a full 2 minutes when he first saw her - but after that they danced. =)
Beautifully. Perfectly. We incorporated a few more shots of them dancing throughout the day - cause they were so good at it.
Carla has a ton of siblings. Each of the girls in her bridal party is her sister, and that is not all of them. They made every moment fun.
Sisters have a way of making a girl feel special and Carla's sisters pulled it off exactly as it should have been. Steve has these crazy guy
friends that are adventurous and crazy enough to try anything once. Only one of them is still single, girls, (according to groomsman, Tyler) and if you like
wake boarding, rock climbing, and motorcycles, this is the club you want to join! This couple did a great job of making their wedding day romantic and
true to themselves, their friends, and families. So, here it is. The highlights as we remember them and the photos we loved best.

I love how the red accents stood out against the black. Even the cycles were red and black - i don't think that was on purpose but it turned out good.
Red heels. Perfect. The guys red flowers with green and the ties with black in. Just right.
Her necklace and his ascot. The girls dresses were the right amount of dainty. And the red heels.

Motorcycle escorts. I like how Steve had his guys do manly things =) for the wedding.
He had them organize and arrange everyone to light the sparklers with blow torches
and then they escorted the couple away with their cycles. The guys loved it and both activities went really well.
If you want something done on your wedding day - fast and efficiently- ask the boys- they don't mess around.
    AND they love it!!!!

To a beautiful, strong couple. Your wedding was a day to remember. And i loved hearing your guests talk about the two of you.
How you are strong. and happy. and contagious. and best friends. and together how you will
be an influence on the world that people will remember in the years to come.
Just like they remembered the two of you separately. On your wedding day.
From here your lives will be a joint effort. Decisions will be made together.  For the future of both.
I'm so excited to see where your lives will go. We loved photographing your wedding day. Thank you for having us!
Also a huge thanks to Judy and Kathleen - second shooters and faithful assistants. I could not have done it without you. Love. Diane

    THE STORIES:
Carla's Story: The first time I met Steve was at the Lancaster County Swing Dance Club in Lancaster, PA. My little sister invited me to go dancing with her, and since learning how to dance had been on my bucket list for forever, of course I agreed. The evening was kind of awkward as I stumbled and tripped over myself and had no idea what I was doing. After an hour of humiliation, I had had enough and told her I was going to leave and go to a better party. But she begged me to stay so I could meet and dance with her friend, Steve. (He was going to come to the dance late). I didn't really want to, but I was curious. So I stayed. He finally showed up. She introduced us, and then we danced. It was not like the movies. I felt just as awkward as I had felt the whole night. He was coaching me how to dance the whole time which made me feel even more insecure about how I was dancing. His hair was crazy and spiked everywhere, and I ended the dance thinking, “he's weird.” And I left right afterward, and didn't think about it anymore. A few weeks later, he friend requested me on Facebook, and I thought “seriously?! We're not even friends.” But I accepted. And I stalked his pictures a little bit and was amused. My heart was extremely skeptical and wary of men in general. With a past of hurt and deep wounds, I was very unsure if I could learn to trust again, or even if I wanted to. I did find him physically attractive, but I especially didn't trust good looking men, so it was a strike against him. A few months of being Facebook friends, which was nothing more than just that, I ran into him again at a volleyball tournament. He ended up getting smashed in the face with the volleyball in one of the games and was sitting on the sidelines holding his nose with paper towels when we had our first conversation. I'm not sure how it started, but my team was sitting out that game and I just started talking to him. We only talked for about 15 minutes, but in that time he told me how he almost died a few years ago and how he gave his heart to the Lord and it completely changed his life. I was impressed. I had figured him to be one of those “player” types. After all, he was 32, owned a sexy truck, a boat, and was a good dancer. Hearing him talk about his relationship with God melted my heart and I was definitely crushing from that point on. He invited me wake boarding on his boat numerous times, and I finally made it suit one Sunday morning. And then a bunch of us went for 4 days to Raystown the next weekend after that. You kind of get to know someone when you camp, with no showers or running water, for 4 days at the lake. It was the best time ever and I fell madly in love. He asked me to meet him at Sonic for ice cream a week after the Raystown trip, and that's where we decided to start a relationship. It's been a beautiful and crazy journey ever since. He proposed at Raystown July 26, a year and 4 days after we started dating.
Steve's Story: I was enjoying my life and was definitely not looking for a girl when we first met. The dance was for sure not the awakening moment but I think after we talked at the tournament I definitely thought she was a cool girl. It was a while after that that I felt like God began to stir in me this idea that I should get to know her better. I don’t know how to explain it other than that. It was just really pretty cool. When she finally did go wake boarding with us I was very impressed with her fun spirit and her smile. she really caught on to the wake boarding and I could see she loved it. (Big Plus for me). The more we hung out the more I realized how much I enjoyed her, but I was a little scared to even think about dating just because of my previous relationship attempts. But after the Raystown trip I knew she liked me and I felt like we should at least talk about it. The amazing thing is that the very next time we were together we actually did talk about it and even though I never intended to ask her out that night, it just kind of came out. It was really easy to talk to her. We decided to go for it; rather spontaneously and even though I was a little scared I decided she was worth the effort! It was a long journey but absolutely the best time of my life.
Dress: Bought my gown from David's Bridal. It's an Oleg Cassini gown. (Alterations sewn by Karen Chow).
Flowers: Melissa Stoltzfus (my sister) did the flowers. She pretty much did her own thing. I gave her a few pictures of ideas that I liked, and told her to do what she thought would look nice. She's so creative!
    Shoes: Wild Rose
Bridesmaid Shoes: They each got their own shoes, but I think most of them were from Target
Bridesmaid Dresses: Robbie Bee (From JCPENNY)
Steve's Tux: Joseph & Feiss White One-Button Shawl Lapel Dinner Jacket (from Men's Wearhouse)
Steve's Shoes: Spectator (from Men's Wearhouse)
The Cake: My friend, Maria Ebersol, made the cake (decorated by my florist/sister Melissa)
    The Coordinator: Edna Beiler
The Rings: Hers: Belden Jewelers (now Kay jewelers). His: JCPENNY

  • Add ons to the NEW studio

    5K9A2709_WEB

A while ago I had been asking around as to what i should name the studio that we are building here in OUR new place.

For those of you who are new to Di Images- I (Diane, the owner) married the love of my life last December.

Just a few short months ago. In my old house (that i was renting from my brother) i had a beautiful attic that was all bare wood boards

and i had painted a section white to take photos and i named it The Attic Studio.

What should i name this studio that is now in our very cool basement? I don't know for sure but for now i'm calling it The New Studio.

    Per a suggestion - Till a better name comes up : )

We have big plans for this spot and we are both (my husband and i) big on making the most of what we have.

I looked at the basement and saw a studio with big lights and warm spaces and so did he.

He is very handy and in my mind - he can fix and build anything.

So i showed him a few pictures online and we mulled it over.

There is nothing like an already scheduled photo shoot to motivate you to get things in order.

I have a little girl coming this weekend for her One Year Old pictures. She lives a few hours away and her mommy loved

the Attic Studio look- plus in case of bad weather- It's nice to be able to count on something great.

Home Depot has vinyl floor boards for about $25 a box.

We bought two- one for the floor one for the wall.

It had real looking texture and design so i rolled on a thin layer of white paint.

I liked how that looked but after consulting with another photographer (Thank You Thelma!)

decided to sand it down a bit to reveal some knots and bruises.

This is what we have so far. Adding a piece of trim and fabric gives it a totally different feel.

Don't miss the huge shag throw from Look At It This Way Antiques!

I'm popping with ideas- but for now i give you Pudg in The New Studio.
