These two. Are so fun together =) Jess has this spunky side that is completely adorable and Brock has that great sense of humor.

They met through a mutual friend (thanks to her!) and started chatting via the world wide web before they ever met in person.

He said, "I decided that if she is who she says she is i wanted more."

She said, "I thought he was handsome."

With a little of my own paraphrasing.

And so they decided to meet. From Pennsylvania to North Carolina ......... And now they are getting married.

It got me thinking- If all you ever did is talk with someone and you never yet met - what would you say?

I look at this relationship with admiration and intrigue.

I like their story.

Beautiful couple.

It was so fun meeting both of you. Jess, i love your southern accent and your spunky side =) and Brock you are a real gentleman.

Together you will change the world you live in. I'm excited to see where this life takes the two of you!

Do you know this talented family? I had the privilege of photographing them (was it in December?) on a cold cold- very chilly day last year.

They needed photos for album covers, banners, newsletters etc etc.

I absolutely love the color scheme and fell in love with their warm, laid back approach to our very hectic morning- (my fault)

I can see how these two things would serve them well as they travel the world as a family cramped into an RV for weeks on end.

If you have never heard them look them up! They just came out with a new CD that sounds heavenly- Title "Take Me Home"

This is the cover photo which was my pick of the lot as well.

 

 

 

When i first spoke to Kim she very modestly explained to me how they have this place the two of them

would visit for their dates sometimes -would i mind shooting there? I love new places and she said it was a ranch.

King Ranch. I love ranches. I also have a natural inclination to sprawling meadows and fences and horses.

I was excited to try a brand new location. Judy and I drove together and as we were driving through

southern Lancaster County we kept exclaiming over all the fallen tree branches. They were everywhere!

Remember that big storm that came through that put homes out of electricity for days?!!

But we were passing beautiful ranches and farms and could only hope that where we were headed would be

as beautiful. We couldn't have been more pleased. This ranch is for real.

We followed Lyle back off the main road for a few miles it seemed. Dirt road after dirt road. Trees and fences and rolling landscape  as far as our eyes could see.

Did we know places like this existed? And then we spotted a castle. Would that be our spot?

 Lyle's father farms some of this land. Hurray for dads with connections =)

And we fell in love.

We also thought Kim & Lyle were pretty cool.

She has this easy way about her and he loves to make her smile.

The combination was spontaneous and a blast to shoot.

How did they meet? Well =) They went to the same church all of their lives. Grew up together.

But, Lyle says, the relationship really took off when they were at a Sheetz one evening and started talking.

I love it!

And. There was so much sunshine! It bounced off the walls and played music with our lenses.

It was everywhere. Finally.

 

 

We had to include some photos with the F150. The mode of transportation that faithfully brings them back to this lovely place time after time.

We did have to sacrifice a few spots just because it was too muddy to get to them. It's ok though, cause we were liking all the other places just fine!

Just too cute for words. Love the outfits. So pretty eyes.

Lyle & Kim- Happy Planning!

This child is the greatest kid around. I never knew I could love my sister's baby with such complete love. I want to smush him in hugs

every time i see him. He's the perfect blend of his mommy and daddy. I think he has daddie's smarts and mommie's eyes but it may be too

soon to tell for sure. He is my favorite kid to watch, to love on, and to photograph.  These photos are from last fall when he was 1.

We started out taking some photos down by the river which is right behind their house.

You should see this place. Every boy would love to live there. It is built on the side of a hill and has steps on the outside

from the road above to the river beneath. It has a sprawling deck (as they say) with a screened in area perfect for a bar-b-q and

hammock time. The view from their living room window makes you feel like you are anywhere but in Lancaster County.

Canoeing, swinging from the tire swing, and watching people float down the river are my favorite activities.

(minus the tire swing part)  =)

Talking about it makes me even more excited for summer to roll around.

Desmond's expressions change drastically from moment to moment.

He can be serious as pie and suddenly go streaking off with a huge grin on his face.

These photos are taken at The Overlook Community Park - one of their favorite spots.

I love the image of him below. He just wanted to run everywhere so i ran with him and snapped away!

Check out his little curls on top of his head =)

Desmond, You are such a precious kid. I can't wait to see where life takes you. Thank you for making me laugh all the time.

These two are getting married June 21st, 2014.

Is it just me or are the couples now a days just cuter than ever? =)

Amber wanted to shoot in the town of Lititz. I never get tired of that little town.

It has so many little nooks and crannies that are just waiting to be used as a photography prop or location.

 A perfect fit.

Spring is here but winter is still lurking at all the corners- We were able to snatch a little of both seasons for this couple.

Perfect.

See how much we have matured since then? Just kidding! =) How i do appreciate each of these women.

I have said it many times but it's always true, that i could not do what i do without them.

(We are missing Julie & Kathleen-  2 assistants that were added this past year)

I have been so lucky to know and to work beside each of them for over a year-

and because of my wedding being in the winter we didn't get a chance to celebrate our company

with a get together or a meal or anything so here it is on the web.

I do not want them to forget how essential they are to this company,

And how much i love to work with them.

Lancaster City Engagement Shoot.

He is a nurse.

She is a nurse.

They met in nursing school =)

Lavon & Kelly are getting married Friday, May 16th.

I am so excited for their wedding. It's going to be full of family, fun, and pretty pretty pretty.

This couple is so relaxed in front of the camera.

They wanted photos with big smiles and laughs and normal interaction.

They didn't want snow (can you blame them?) and while i thought we did pretty good with avoiding it-

I can see snow. Sadly. It is just high time for the weather to be warmer and for the snow to go away.

But until then- enjoy this beautiful perfect for each other couple!

I adore Kelly's laugh. Even if you don't know what she is laughing about it makes you smile.

And when people are smiling and laughing they (we) are all more relaxed. =)

Kelly & Lavon are going to be living in Lancaster City to be near her job at LGH.

I love that they chose spots that were meaningful to them as a couple.

We stopped at their favorite coffee shop to change clothes and, of course, warm up!

I feel like this above shot is perfect for these two.

Then we headed to the row houses. Maybe they will live near here?

And a back alleyway.

I told Lavon to look at Kelly and smile. "You are soooo cute!" He said. It was as if he couldn't help himself.

She really is cute, isn't she?! =) Kelly, you will be a stunning bride.

There's that laugh again!

Then we moved on to some doors with pretty color.

And i did not notice this at the time but i love how she is standing on his foot. Awwwwww.

Plus a few props from work. =)

This blond headed little munchkin came into the world at almost 9 lbs-

Surrounded by an incredible family : 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a mom and a dad.

All of whom are so so so proud of little Finn.

He wasn't a good sleeper but that did not stop us from having a ton of fun getting a few shots of him with his family.

Do not miss Cedric who brought his own camera. =) "Diane, move over, you're in my way!"

Are so funny together. When they are together in a room no other entertainment is needed.

They are constantly on the move and getting that perfect picture together of the two of them didn't turn out nearly like i thought it would.

But actually must better. How precious! Desmond had us in stitches by running in and out of all the shots while William stood beside his prop

the entire time and smiled and smiled.  Sometimes it's  fun to do a photo shoot just for fun. I loved it!

William was wearing his little work boots and Desmond his very colorful shirt.

With big smiles, giggles, and big blue eyes- you cannot go wrong =)

And this was our perfect shot.

 

Another Shoot from last summer that makes my heart ache for warm sunshine.

This little guy was turning one.

His mom had some really cute ideas and i loved his outfits.

The new one is up and running and we are always adding and planning new looks to make the next

photo shoot unique and different than the one before.  It's fun to see the change in style and design

in other photographers work. It can be hard to look at my own work that way but one thing that never changes

and that is the beauty of the summer sun. I am so ready to move everything to the great outdoors again =)
