  • Randy & Mary Ellen : Wedding

"I have found the one whom my soul loves." - Song of Solomon 3:4

I am so excited to show you this wedding! Our last wedding of the year (but for my own-have i said that before?? =) ) but certainly, not our least favorite.

Mary Ellen was a stunning bride. She is the kind of person that you want to hug every time you see her. She is so warm and sweet spirited and has the perfect kind of laughter that seems to just flow from her.

Randy is, well, hilarious and also shares that warm spirit- He gave our team the highest compliment in saying we are fast. We aim to be speedy especially when time is tight.  Together they make this dynamic couple, but it's like this little secret they

have about how great they are together. A really special kind of couple.

He plays guitar- base, i think =) and adores his wife and she will stand by his side forever. Their relationship is certain and secure.  Enough about them, right?

    Let's see the pictures already!!

    Most lovely details.

The Guys and the Girls both were getting ready at The Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland.

When both parties get ready at the same place it so fun to be able to go back and forth between them snapping pictures as their getting ready progresses.

Easy and fun are two words that describe this bunch of guys perfectly. Also, three of his boys were his siblings, which added to the fun factor a bit!! =)

The girls took a little more time than we had planned for so we took the boys outside at the church and shot away.=)  Loved how this bit turned out!

When i asked Mary Ellen if she would email me a story about how they met and fell in love to include with the blog i was

super pleased to see that Randy submitted his side of the story as well =) YES!! This is his story:

The first time I saw Mary Ellen, she was at church. She was about 75ft from me talking  with my friend Trish . My exact thoughts were who is this hot babe? I need to go meet her, and that's what I did! We made small talk at church for a month or so, in the meantime I was trying to figure out if she was into me or not. Little did I know I was her knight in shining armor riding in on my white horse backwards, her rockstar guitar player ... You get the idea. So I wanted to get to know her outside of church but every time I talked to her I couldn't think of a way I could do it without making it awkward by just asking her out on a date. Before I knew what happened she invited me on a mission trip to New York for the weekend. I instantly out of desperation hopped on the opportunity, but of course was playing it cool on the out side by saying that I wasn't sure if I had plans that weekend or if I was free to go that I had to go home and check my cal and I would text her if I could go or not. This of course was my disguise to get her phone number haha. I of course went, and had an amazing weekend of getting to know her and oh yeah we did some mission stuff too:) it wasn't long after that weekend that I ask her out and the rest is history...

(see, i told you he's hilarious)

    Handsome.

And then it was time to set up the first look.

We opted to do it right there at the church so that Randy and Mary Ellen could ride in the truck together for the rest of their day. Great Idea!

    Untitled-2

    5K9A3360

    So precious.

Mary Ellen found a property she loved and knocked on their door to ask if we could take photos there. The said yes and it was the perfect spot!

Mary Ellen has an easy beauty about her. Like she isn't even trying to be knock dead gorgeous. Soooo Pretty. =)

And this is what she has to say about how she met Randy:

I knew from the moment I met Randy that there was something special about him. I loved how he always sought me out in the crowd at church (it was usually in line for coffee) and we would talk about how our week was, and just make small talk. It didn't take long to realize though that I wanted to get to know Randy better, and spend more time with him outside of church. Well, the perfect opportunity came a few months after we met:) I invited Randy to come along on a week-end mission trip to New York. We had the opportunity to work together in a group as well as spend time together and talk about the possibility of being together sometime in the future. So, we hung out as friends for a few more weeks, and didn't take long for both of us to know that we wanted to be together. This was the beginning of our journey :)

  • Steve & Carla : Engaged

These two. Are beautiful. From top to toe- inside and out. I met this couple at a wedding this past summer. He was being the DJ and she was sitting by his side for moral support =). Immediately i was struck by their smiles. And, yes, i tried to check for rings to see if they were married or not. I'm not gonna lie and maybe you have "heard" me say it before - i do meet people and hope i can take their photos one day. It's not always couples, most times it's children or small babies, and most of the time i don't get to meet them so much as just catch a glimpse of them. Sometimes it comes to pass and sometimes not. BUT when i figured out who Carla and Steve were after they contacted me, i was delighted and honored to be their wedding photographer. This photo shoot happened at Blue Marsh Lake. They wanted to use a boat (i had never done that before) and i didn't know what to expect. I've had a tiny share of wake boarding experience in my day but i didn't know was it a fishing boat or a row boat, etc. ?=) After they arrived- we threw around some ideas of what we were all thinking and this is what came out of it! Love Love Love. Steve & Carla: I love that you love to go boating. I love that you were both up for anything. I love that the two of you are in love and we are so excited to be a part of your wedding day! Here they are folks! Steve & Carla.

    IMG_0019

This day. The day for these two to become one. The day for Konrad and Bethany to promise themselves to each other. Forever. Was a beautiful kind of day. Full of promise and smiles with a clear, bright sky and the exact amount of sunshine we were looking for. This day was special and all day i kept picturing these two growing old together and still having fun! Him laughing at her quirks and She laughing at his. =) All the getting ready started at Bethany's best friend and maid of honor, Darlene's house. Here we go!!

And here is their story: from Bethany- (which i think is so dear)

"The first time I really remember of meeting Konrad, Is in 2009 at Lancaster Bible School. Somebody introduced him to me, and that was it. I never thought much of it. Plus, he was dating at the time. Since he lived an hour and a half away, I didn't see him really until he started coming down to my area to hang out with my some of my friends. I eventually got to know him pretty well. He soon wasn't dating anymore. I still thought of him as a only a friend and didn't want anything more than that. We became really good friends. We got along so well. Everybody would tease us, but I made it known that it was only a brother/sister kind of relationship. In the meantime, he wanted to pursue a dating relationship, but I still wasn't interested in the least bit. People would always tried to convince me that I actually did like him, but i was denying it. So that started making me think.....and pray. I just didn't feel ready. Finally a couple months later, I decided to go for it. So 8/10/12 we went on our first date. We had a great dating relationship, we got to know each other's dreams, goals, and values. We both had a lot of the same dreams. We learned a lot about each other. We both felt as if we were to date anybody else, they wouldn't be as perfect for us like we were for each other. So 5/17/13 he proposed, and I said "Yes!". We got married 9/29/13. It was a beautiful day, and perfect in our eyes. Our marriage has just begun, and we are extremely excited to see where God is going to take us."

Konrad & Bethany, First of all- thank you for your patience. I know you have waited long and hard to see these photos up here. Your day was beautiful and complete. No one couple has the same wedding day feel on their special day but something about your wedding made such a connection with me- was it all the laughing and mischief? or the times we had to wait for Kon to get off the phone? or losing track of the best man? or the food in the teeth? maybe it was just the way i was feeling that day BUT i do know that the two of you have something really special. I did not know you before you contacted me to take your photos but now i feel like i'm a part of the family, too. If everyone that meets you carries this witness what a great testimony to the world that will be. God has big plans! Love to both of you.

Silla and Valerie: I couldn't have been more grateful for my second shooters as i was on this day. With so much grace that no one would ever be able to tell- the two of you jumped in and did your job with no hesitation whatsoever. To have girls by my side on a day that is so important is irreplaceable. I honestly could not have done it without you. And, as always, it just makes the day more fun!

    Was this wedding not beautiful?

    Yes.

I have one more wedding to show you from this year- (except for my own which may or may not air this year yet) -

    check back soon.

  • Chad & Kinza : Wedding

    September 28th, 2013

" I have found the one whom my soul loves"

    Song of Solomon 3:4

    5K9A7208

I love Autumn- It has long been my favorite season. The leaves- the air- the skies- the color of all the weeds and trees and just everything!

It all comes together in such a magnificent way and i love it!  Fall weddings? Of course, i love them, too!! =)

Chad & Kinza were married on such a day- It was perfect.

They had a morning wedding -which is becoming a rare thing these days-

and it was so fun to do that again!

We were up before dawn and were taking photos before it was light outside-

but it made no difference in the amount of excitement or anticipation for anyone who was involved in the wedding.

We started at Lititz Dunkard Brethren Church-

A small, simple, beautiful country church that reminded me of my childhood church-

    (before it was remodeled).

And here is her day starting with the details- Green with a burst of Orange! ( we loved the flowers - by Sharon Beiler )

And then we were ready. And it was time to set up the "First Look"- which was so adorable.

We had Chad go to our destination spot first- The Millport Concervancy-And then we brought Kinza over with one of her girls-

Gave them a few options/instructions about how they wanted it to happen

and they had that beautiful first moment on their wedding day. To see each other for the first time -

That moment where two people start that very special day - just the two of them- I loved this first look.

    Sweetness.

Here is Chad & Kinza's Story:

Our love story started with a dream. God was right there making it all happen when neither one of us had a clue. Chad dreamed he met a girl who became his girlfriend and later on his wife. Little did he know that a couple months later his life would be changed forever. It was at a volleyball tournament when he first seen me. After that he couldn’t sleep, or stop thinking of this girl with dark eyes. Funny thing was I had no idea that he even noticed me. I didn’t know it when he came around to our youth night (volleyball) either. I was completely clueless until I got a few “hints” from one of our mutual friends. I knew who Chad was but I never in a million years thought he liked me. We started texting and a few weeks later he took me for a ride in his big white Chevy Duramax truck.  I was a goner then. I fell head over heels for this cute country boy who had a big truck. That Sunday he talked to my dad and he had to wait for 3 months till I graduated to start “officially” dating. We have been pretty much inseparable since then!! Everything happened pretty fast but I know without a shadow of a doubt that He’s truly the love of my life!! He’s everything that I prayed for plus so much more. I am so humbled when I think of how God brought us together and what He brought us through. It is so amazing what prayer does for a relationship. Then on May 16th at the Bushkill Falls in the Pocono Mountains right in the middle of a log stretched very very high above the stream. He got down on one knee and asked if I would be his wife! After much laughing and crying I said yes!!

Love that story. Thank you Kinza. Very well written.

Here she is! The lady of the day- You will see what Chad means when he talks about "those dark eyes". =)

  • Shane & Suzanna : Engaged

    At the Lancaster Train Station

In the middle of a tropical rain storm =) But we had a already cancelled once and we were just so excited to get pictures of these two!

Are they not so cute? Shane is Shanna's sister (Dallas &  Shanna's Wedding) And Suz is a sister to another bride who you will see

very soon and also a sister to one of the hairdressers i run into frequently at these weddings =)  and i love being part

of this circle of life that is so beautiful and talented. Another big secret here is that Shane was my student, not only in the third grade (he was such a good student and a CEEUUTTE kid)

but also in high school, i was his computer teacher. So i know first hand exactly how gifted he is.  I also know how he is kind and communicative.

I know other things, too, about him, that could be embarrassing- as he also knows about me so i'm going to stop reminiscing and stick to the future!!! =)

And to this very beautiful couple whom i believe is very lucky to have found each other.

Suzanna, i don't know you or your family, but i am so excited to get the chance. I love that your family is big. I love that already i know 3 of you and each

of you is beautiful from the inside out. i love love love your laugh! And your style. And i believe you are going to make a stunning bride.

These two are getting married January third. Yay, for winter weddings!!!! I'm very excited. =)

    At The Old Gault Plantation

A Beautiful Beautiful Venue. If you are looking for a place that has indoor/outdoor facilities for spring summer or fall i would highly recommend you check it out. You will find the most pleasant hostesses and a property full of evergreens and willows with ponds and stone buildings everywhere. Nooks and crannies abound - perfect for setting up a little of this and a little of that. Carolyn suggested we separate ourselves from all the hoop-la for the First Look and i agreed one hundred percent. We visited an older gentlemen's property that is overflowing with evergreens and bamboo. He lives in a quaint log home with wood carvings on his front porch and does not understand why photographers and brides alike love his property so much. What a perfect day. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking!!

We both went to the same church growing up but since Nate is 4 years older then me we had different groups of friends. We would talk every now and then and he would hang out with my brothers but I was just their little sister. Even tho we were in the same youth group we didn't know each other well. When I was 18 a group of us randomly started hanging out alot and we had a blast together. During that time we got to know each other pretty well but for me Nate was just a friend and I enjoyed hanging out with him and our group of friends, I only wanted to be friends and nothing more. For him well he felt alittle different about it then I did. I was young and had dreams of traveling and living in another country. Our paths went different ways for around 2 years. During that time there was joy and also difficult situations for both of us but we both learned so much and The Lord was shaping us as individuals. In the fall of 2009 he talked to my dad. I wasn't expecting that at all because we hardly hung out the past two years. At this point in my life I was planning to go to Asia for awhile and I knew I had a choice to make because I didn't want to do both at the same time. After praying about it I felt like God was calling me to go! During the next few months as I was preparing to go my heart was torn but I left for almost a year and I was excited to see what God had for me. During that time apart we spent alot of time praying for each other and also had some contact even tho miles separated us. While I was gone I missed him alot but still was not sure how Gods plan was going to unfold for us. I had mixed feelings about coming home, the past year God had done so much in my heart and didn't know how he was feeling about everything. After being home for awhile we talked again and yes God was doing amazing things in Nates heart also, but I still didn't feel at peace to go into a relationship with him because again God had other plans, I was home for 6 months and went back to Asia for 4 months. Those 4 months were some of the most incredible months in my life. While I was over there God gave me so much peace about starting a relationship with Nate and we knew God was working at bringing our hearts together! It was 4 months after coming home and working thru some things that my dad gave the blessing and I said yes! This relationship is a gift from God and this past year had been filled with so much joy. We said "I do" exactly a year later after our first date. Our journey has been a long one and not all easy but we will be forever grateful to the Father for guiding us and teaching us life lessons and for the years we had to grow into a deeper relationship with Him! We are so excited to be in this new season of life and to be on this journey together! We are both excited to see what the Father has for us together! Thanks so much to all our family and friends for your love and support and for all you did to make our day beautiful and fun! This verse has become one of our favorite because its so true in our story.
He has made everything beautiful in its time...I know whatever God does, it shall be forever. Ecclesiastes 3:11,14

  • Justin & Rebekah : Wedding

    IMG_0154

    August 9,2013

This wedding day started with a flurry of activity at the bride's home. Full to the brim with family- family from out of the country- family that married into the family- family that is having one last sleep over with your  sisters before your wedding day- the kind of family that is just plain together- through anything- lots of laughter- lots of kind bossing- lots of excitement for the couple to be married. Rebekah, i love your family. I think you being the first daughter to be married is a big deal. I love how your dad shared at the reception how much he loved having you for a daughter in his home all these years. You are that kind of girl. Justin- life has already taught you to love well and love hard. Seeing you with Rebekah held a kind of reverence and i couldn't help but notice that everyone that looked at the two of you had to smile. The kind of smile that says, "Good, I am so glad they are getting married today." So- between getting ready and catching details outside the bride's home- this day was going to be a wonderful beautiful kind of day.

And here is Justin & Rebekah's story :

Justin and I first met about 5 or 6 years ago at a weekend get-together. We both were attracted to each other and we must have made it obvious because people wouldn't stop teasing us. Then we may have chatted a few times after that. Then about a year later, we met again at the Gospel Express Sale and we hung out one evening. And once again we talked for a few weeks after that. Then it really began in the summer of 2010. My family started going to his church and our families hung out alot. Then that fall my sister and cousin needed a third person for their Quiz Team and I was the coach. So, of course, Justin was more than willing. This led to hanging out at least once a week and then all day events as well. I would say about October 2010 was when we made it official to most people and to each other that we liked each other. So we pre-dated for about 4 months and Febuary 12th he asked me if I would go on a date with him, and of course, I was thrilled. We then dated for almost two years. Then on January 12th, 2013 we were in Delaware with my family for the weekend and we went on a walk to the crabbing dock and he got down on one knee and asked if he could spend the rest of his life with me. After a few minutes of saying, "Are you serious??", I told him it would be an honor.

A day that started out clear and bright. The sun was sunshiny and the air was crisp.

The hustle and bustle at the beginning of the day created a feeling of anticipation and much excitement.

I love Katelyn and Levi's Story.  (which will be posted along the way) This couple is genuine and beautiful.

They have such a desire to follow God's will for their lives and an eagerness to get started!

The ceremony and reception was held at The Olde Gault Plantation- with the getting ready at

Katelyn's parent's home. Here is their wedding day story- A super fine celebration!

    Here is their story:

"We met about 4 years ago! And we started hanging out. He was my cousin's best friend! So my cousin was the middle man. We both knew how we felt but we both knew i was very young. So we went our separate ways for 'bout a year. I started getting more involved in my youth group. And he kept hanging out with his same old friends (which he STILL hangs out with :) and then one spring we randomly started to hang out.  We went to The Buck with a bunch of our other friends and feelings started all over! Again, i was only 17 and my folks made it very clear that none of their daughters were to date before we were 18 (house rule) so we tried waiting as long as we could (which ended up to be only 2 months).  So he went and asked my dad, which he said, 'No' because he wanted to get to know Levi better. So Levi started coming over to family nights, and came over other random evenings. Finally, 3 months later, my dad gave in and gave us his blessing! We were so excited and nervous at the same time! Dating was not what we expected. It was hard work. We soon found out that we were NOT alike in some of our opinions and it seemed like we disagreed on everything! :) But at the same time we both learned so much! The Lord was shaping us, not only as a couple but also individually to become the spouse the other needs! The 2 years of our dating life was the funnest and yet the hardest years so far! I have so much love and joy being with this man. It's unreal! And we both can not wait to see how the Lord is going to use our marriage to impact others! Our love story might be ordinary but it's "OUR" love story and no one else's!! :) -Katelyn.

I adore this picture with the bride and groom and the nieces and nephews.

Sometimes they just don't turn out- because the baby is crying or the toddler is crying AND reaching for momma AND blurry,

But this photo just works. So good! Do you know these beautiful people? You should :)

I could tear up with happy tears, any time I start to tell our story. It's my favorite story though, better than anything I could have imagined!

It was a week before my 16th birthday when Joey first told me he had a crush on me. The next year and half we saw each other and talked as much as we could- this was a bit of a challenge considering our parents weren't so found of how young we were. But we waited, not so patiently, for Joseph's 18th birthday.
Once Joseph was 18, we were finally allowed to date. He asked me out in the parking lot of a church in New Holland, our first date was several days later at Simon Peirce.
Ask any body we know- we are each other's best friends. Inseparable. I just LOVE being with him. The most exciting thing about marriage for me? The dates will never have to end.
The morning of the proposal, I had minor surgery on my shoulder. We both took the day off and decided to make a day of it. We went out to eat for lunch and then went shopping. It was January 2nd and Joseph told me that as part of his new years resolution, he was going to video tape all of our dates. I figured it was so that he could get the proposal on video, but was expecting it to be a few months away. But I was wrong. :) On our way home we stopped at "our spot," he asked me to slow dance. At the end of the song, he popped the question. I was on cloud  nine for days! I am living a dream come true. God is so good and we are so blessed to have each other.
The wedding was everything we could have imagined! We felt God's presence in a very real way all day and we had an absolute blast! Everyone says you don't remember much of your wedding- and I'm sure we missed some of the details but I know we'll always remember the indescribable joy we felt leaving on that scooter.

    And then it was time.

I loved the groom's reaction as there was an audible gasp that came from his core-

he couldn't help it. She was so beautiful. He had not seen her all day long and finally it was time.

The reception was held on the beautiful property of The Stone Farm : 1294 Weaverland Rd.

With the pond and the trees and the old farmhouse all spread out nicely on this landscape-

The evening fell perfectly with the sunshine flooding the cornfields surrounding the barn.

Grace & Joe: What a perfect perfect day.

You two make a very beautiful couple.

This was their thank you to the guests for coming.

"Thank you so much for being a part of our big day. We feel overwhelmed and blessed by the support we have had from all of our family and friends the past several months. Thank you for your prayers, encouraging words and helping hands.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the day with us. This little bag of goodies is for you! The five almonds are an Italian wedding tradition. The  bittersweet almonds represent life while the sugar coating is added in hopes that the newlyweds will have more sweetness in their lives together.

    Thanks again and God bless!"
